sep 5The East Cooper Faith Networks Summer Enrichment Camp  will be starting its 2nd year this summer at the Miriam Brown Center, Mount Pleasant, SC.

During the summer months, children are often on their own and experience what is sometimes called Summer Learning Loss.  Meaning, advances in reading and other subjects ‘back-slides’ and at the start of the new academic year, they are sometimes behind from when the summer began.  This places children behind their peers, and their losses tend to be compounded each succeeding year. The Summer Enrichment Camp is designed to lessen this back-slide by offering children in grades 2-5 opportunities to keep their minds engaged and maintain or even advance their achievement levels .

ECFN (East Cooper Faith Network) has created the Summer Enrichment Camp to explore the opportunities to help bridge the academic gap for children from 2nd through rising 6th during the summer by offering children in need a ‘summer camp’ environment where they can engage their mind in by reading, writing, doing crafts, and other creative activities.  This program is for low income or at risk children in the local Miriam Brown area.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED.  This is also a great opportunity for volunteers to help young children in the community.  If you would like volunteer and offer one-on-one support, please contact us (see below). Camp dates are as follows:
