East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) is partnering with Seacoast Church and LIVE5NEWS to sponsor its 8th annual Hurricane Preparedness and Awareness Forum on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 7 P.M. The Hurricane Forum will be held at Seacoast Church (Long Point Campus), 750 Long Point Road in Mt. Pleasant, SC. The Forum venue is open to the public. All citizens as well as Church and Community leaders are strongly encouraged to attend this very timely and important event.
The forum panel includes representatives from the American Red Cross, Trident United Way, Charleston County Emergency Preparedness Department, SC Department of Health and Environmental Control, Town of Mt. Pleasant Police, Fire and Recreation departments, Seacoast Church ProPac, Inc. and East Cooper Community Outreach.
Mr. Bill Walsh, Chief Meteorologist, LIVE 5 NEWS/WCSC-TV/DT will serve as the Forum Moderator. Topics include preparation of disaster plans for individuals, churches and businesses, mandatory evacuation procedures, caring for the vulnerable, special needs and pet shelters as well as training in disaster preparation, response and recovery. Additionally, there will be an opportunity for the audience to ask questions of the panel members.
